Review of I Sing The Body Electro by Barjeilik
I have bought everything this man has done since he hit in the mid-eighties
so i know his
worth.this rates highly as a return to his electro fueled hip hop
sound.kown as the king of the
beats long before producing a song of that name, beat heads will no doubt
be pleased to see king
of the beats v.3 appears here too.this time kurtis teams up with foul-mouthed
female rapper
traylude who f's and b's her way through some old school and yet up to
the minute rhymes that
do justice to kurtis' renownedproduction skills. there are no fillers here
and thankfully he has
avoided trying to emulate current trends and follow styles.instead i would
say that the man
mantronik has reached into his own past (evident in using samples of his
old tracks) and come
up with something new and fresh. i fully reccommend this to anyone interested
in beat
based,funnky-ass music especially those too young to know who he is and
what he represents
as quite simply he is the daddy that all these latter day beat masters
wish they could be. so enjoy
this lp and wait impatiently for the realease of the new lp this year..
