HARRY'S AFRO HUT ON DANCEFRONTDOOR SITE, OCTOBER 2003

When it comes to big records - Positiva remains at the forefront. 2003 has already seen many chart successes for the UK's top dance label as their high-profile artist projects continue to make headlines and resound on the airwaves. Whilst celebrating their 10th Anniversary, the label has released some of the defining sounds of the year, including hits like Room 5's 'Make Luv' - which spent 4 weeks at No. 1 and is now one of this year's biggest selling singles.

Positiva's take on pop disregards the manufactured nature that plagues the genre. By combining their take on the clubscene with an ear for an outstanding tune, they've been able to sell over 11 million singles and attract major figures to its roster. Continuing in their tradition of establishing hot new talent, Positiva can now announce details of its new pop act, the outstanding Harry's Afro Hut.

Harry's Afro Hut is the legendary Kurtis Mantronik, and rising star, Sande Urquhart. Few artists have had such an effect on contemporary pop music as Kurtis - whose work has forever changed the face of pop, hip-hop, electro, dance, and rock. He still pulls off chart success with ease, and the demand for his golden touch remains - he answered Kylie's recent call and they're working together on her forthcoming album. Kurtis is a rare talent - one with diversity and depth - but the reason for his continued success is his eagerness to stretch musical boundaries.

Whilst Kurtis has spent his career making daring raids on pop culture, Sande has experienced the full circus of the pop lifestyle as a singer and performer with some of the world's most A-list talent including: Destiny's Child, Robbie Williams, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and the Pet Shop Boys. You'll also remember her from Channel 4's Boys & Girls. Together, the pair have produced one of the anthems of the year and begun one of the most interesting partnerships in pop.

'C'mon Lady' is an immediate anthem. Its irresistible guitar hook, cheeky vocals, and soaring chorus make it one of the catchiest tracks of the year. Already a massive club hit, 'C'mon Lady' will soon become a nationwide anthem. Pete Tong has started the buzz on Radio 1, limited white labels of the record are being snapped up, and the label's phones have rung hot with requests. As usual there is a full selection of cutting edge remixes to suit all tastes. From the outstanding remix from Sweden's man of the moment, Eric Prydz, to the more upbeat, mainstream rerubs from Kurtis, excellent newcomers King Global, and Pez Tellett from City FM.

Harry's Afro Hut have broken onto the scene with one of this year's outstanding pop moments - and the dream partnership of Sande and Kurtis makes this one of the most exciting prospects for the future.
