TORI THE SAMPLER - TORI REMIXES - TORI THE SAMPLED - LINKS

T O R I   T H E   S A M P L E R

ALBUM : UNDER THE PINK - TRACK : GOD

On this track Tori uses a 2 layered drum loop from 2 groups that actually know each other very well. Beastie Boys & Run D.M.C. They toured together in the 80's. Beastie Boys are most famous for their song "Fight for your right to party" and their crazy behaviour in the 80's. But the boys have matured into well respected musicians and MC Adam Yauch started the Tibetan Freedom Concert which you've all probably heard of. Run D.M.C. are known as the King of Rock in the hip hop world. Their most known track was a cover of Aeorsmiths classic Walk This Way. This track paved the way for hip hop artists like the Beastie Boys to get success at the music charts. Run D.M.C. are still in the limelight today, but mostly other DJ's like Jason Nevins make them popular again with his remix of an old Run D.M.C. classic "it's like that". and they recently appeared on MTV's Video Music Awards playing "Walk this way" live with Aerosmith & Kid Rock. The Beasties originally took this drum loop from The Incredible Bongo Band's track called "Last Bongo In Belgium". They also had a track called "Apache" which is looked upon as the ultimate B-Boy break. I don't know if Tori sampled the Beasties or The Incredible Bongo Band so i put them both in there coz they are both great :-)
